As you know, it is a necessary and an ordinary part of business that at OceanFirst Bank, and our subsidiaries, we gather personal and financial information from our customers. We want to assure you that we are intent on protecting your personal privacy. The information you provide to us is used only where we reasonably believe it is useful in performing our functions as your financial institution, such as providing products and services and other information, which improve our level of service to you. Protecting your privacy is important to us. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. The following notice serves as a standard for all our employees for the collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information as well as the precautions we take to ensure your privacy:

Information We Collect
We limit the collection and use of information about our customers to that which is necessary to administer our business, provide superior customer service and offer opportunities that we think will be of interest to our customers. "Nonpublic personal information" is nonpublic information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, this includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history. We may collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; and
  • Information we receive from third parties such as consumer reporting agencies.
Information We Disclose
We carefully limit and control the sharing of your information. We may disclose the following kinds of nonpublic personal information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements:
  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, employment history, assets and income;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage; and
  • Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.
    1. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, we are permitted by law to share with our affiliates information concerning a customer's account history and experiences with us as described above, unless you tell us not to.
    2. We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you, as described above, to the following types of "affiliates" (i.e., companies in our corporate family related to us by common control or ownership) and "nonaffiliated third parties" (i.e., third parties that are not members of our corporate family):
      • Financial service providers, such as mortgage bankers, securities broker-dealers, and insurance agents;
      • Non-financial companies, such as retailers, direct marketers, airlines, and publishers
      • Others, such as non-profit organizations.
    3. We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to third parties to assist us in servicing your account with us in response to subpoenas, to consumer reporting agencies, to prevent fraud, or to comply with a governmental agency or federal regulator.
Security Procedures Appropriate security standards and procedures are maintained to prevent unauthorized access to customer account information, including attempts to access this information via telephone and/or web banking. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Telephone and Mail Solicitation From time to time, we work independently and/or with carefully chosen business partners in order to provide you with information on a variety of available products and services via mail or telephone. If for some reason you prefer that you are not contacted in this manner, please notify us in writing using the attached reply card and mail to the address listed below.

Your Right To Opt Out If you prefer that we not share this information with companies in our corporate family, or affiliates, you may do so by choosing to opt out and fill out and return the attached reply card.

If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties (other than disclosures permitted by law), you may also do so by choosing the opt out selection on the attached reply card for non-affiliated third parties. Joint Relationships If two or more customers jointly obtain a product or service from us (joint customers), we will treat a do not share instruction by one of the joint customers as applying to all of the associated joint customers.

Closed Accounts If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
